If you’ve been a part of the Floppycats community for a while, you likely know all about Rags. For those who are newer here, Rags was my beloved childhood Ragdoll cat—and the entire inspiration behind this website.
Today would have been his 36th birthday. Born on August 8, 1989 (8/8/89), Rags was one of the greatest loves of my life. I was incredibly blessed to have him by my side for 19 and a half beautiful years. To this day, I honor his legacy through this site, which has become not only my livelihood but one of my greatest joys. You might even recognize his sweet face from our YouTube profile!
Because “8” is my favorite number (thanks to his birthday), we incorporate it into Floppycats traditions whenever we can. For example, every blog post on this site is published at 8:08 AM Kansas City time every single day.

I came to this site all excited to sign up to win the banana, only to be told that I am not included because I’m not in the US. That felt like a slap in the face. I watch your videos and fb and have sent in pics… only to be told “you are not included” when you have a give away. Hmmmm….
Hi Darlene, I think it’s all about perspective. I ALWAYS ask for a manufacturer to offer shipping worldwide. Many times they cannot do it – whether it’s shipping limitations because of the product (in this case, containing catnip) or other custom problems. I wish the approach would be, “Hmmmm, I wonder why the giveaway isn’t open to addresses worldwide?” I am not out to get anyone or to “slap in the face” – I do my best, and so does the manufacturer. You’ll see the giveaways vary as to where they can ship. For example, this month’s monthly giveaway – a much bigger prize is open to addresses in the USA and Canada. Something else to think about – the majority of the site’s traffic is from the USA – almost 80%!
