A Video about Pet Remedy – An Alternative to Feliway for Cats

Made in the UK, Pet Remedy has been around since 2009.  Made from herbal essences, Valerian, sweet basil, sage and vetiver, Pet Remedy helps to reduce stress and anxiety in pets in a natural way.  It comes in plug-in diffusers or sprays to suit the situation you might need it for – like having it within “the air” of a home vs. sprayed in the car or in the pet’s carrier.

Pet Remedy A New Product to Help Calm Down Your Cat

Last month, we featured the post, Pet Remedy vs. Feliway Pet Relaxants – A Pet Remedy Perspective.  I know Feliway has been a great product for many cat owners throughout the years, but have also learned that it hasn’t worked for everyone and their cats.  This makes sense, of course, because even as humans we can respond drastically different to different things.

For example, some people respond differently to caffeine than others.  We had a giveaway for Pet Remedy some time ago now, and the winner of that giveaway says, “i have used the pet remedy that i won in the contest and it does work. i spray it in the morning when 2 of my boys start fighting with each other and they will calm down. i haven’t sued the plug ins but i would definitely. the spray doesn’t last that long.. maybe an hour. i’ve sprayed it on my bed and in their beds and it lasted about an hour. it actually calms me too when i spray it in my room. i like the scent of it but i know other people that don’t. i haven’t used the feliway but my sister did with her cats before and she said it didn’t work for her two that would get into fights. i know other people that said it worked great. i guess it has something to do with the cats and how strong their distaste is for each other.. hahaha. i really like the pet remedy that comes in the little brown bottle (don’t know if it’s related to this pet remedy). i give that to my bully cat and he calms right down and stays that way for hours. no fights!”

Since it has been a bigger thing in the UK, I know it’s not as well-known in other parts of the world, so I put together a video (below) to help explain it as well, since it is a very hard product to “show” how it works.

I am also a HUGE believer in natural remedies and natural solutions BEFORE putting a cat or a pet on meds.  Therefore, I like to share products that help to accomplish natural de-stressing opportunities.

Pet Remedy comes calming sprays that can be used in your home, in the car, in the pet’s carrier and more. Vets in the UK have used it to spray on their clothes to be more appealing to the kitties and pups that they are working on.

I don’t have any experience with Pet Remedy but have been using the Original Feliway by CEVA diffusers for just over two years. I saw many articles and opinions that Comfort Zone with Feliway wasn’t as effective as the higher concentration in the original, so started and stuck with that. It worked and continues to work wonders with the introduction and integration of our two senior rescues to our own two seniors. I can always tell when the diffusers have run out just by the change in temperament of our “Queen” Savannah. For most of the month she is mellow jello….but as it runs out she gets all hormonal and hissy. Highly recommend! ❤️❤️

love it, nancy! thanks for sharing. yes, actually the feliway product is no longer going to be in comfort zone…and feliway is going to be available direct to the public, instead of only through vet offices. i am glad to hear that you have had such success with it!

Hey Jenny, not sure when Feliway CEVA started selling straight to consumers but I’ve ordered all along from Amazon without having to go thru our vet….meant to also say we use the Multicat formula.

well, great – i had a conversation with a PR company representing Feliway a few weeks ago where they stated that it was not going to be sold through vet offices exclusively anymore – but guess it hasn’t been for awhile!

Wonderful post and video, Jenny!! Addie & Ash!! ALWAYS so wonderful to see them in a video with you or Amy!! 🙂 <3

I, too, am such a believer in trying natural remedies before going with medications (for humans AND animals!)! I do believe that products like PetRemedy and Feliway work, too! But, like lots of natural products and remedies, the efficacy (big word!) can depend on the invididual. Such was the case with our experience with PetRemedy and Miss PSB. She just didn't react to it at all. She might respond better to the Feliway, though, now that I think about it. But, since she's adapted to her nail clipping time now, she's pretty stress-free. However, should a situation present itself to cause her some stress then I would definitely try the Feliway for her. 🙂 <3

Big hugs & lots of love!

    Patti & Miss Pink Sugarbelle 🙂 <3
