I consulted Serge Martinod, DVM, PhD of ArcaNatura about Charlie’s coat color change as well. Here is what he had to say about cats changing hair color.

Their coats change color depending on skin temperature. That’s why they have dark “points” where there the skin is coolest; there is not much insulating tissue.

I am a firm believer that we are given what we need to grow in life. I also believe that I am supposed to have the cats I have, those are Charlie and Trigg and that I was supposed to have Rags. Although, he, technically, is not mine, I have a very strong bond with Caymus, so he is also included.

Ragdolls are known to be “dog-like” cats, so I guess the fact that my cats are into sticks is normal.

Trigg and Charlie, when in my basement window, often do a Meerkat pose in order to see just beyond their height.

Yesterday, I was messing around with Charlie’s coat and noticed that he might have a cat birthmark – otherwise I don’t know what it would be – sorry for the photo quality, they were taken on my iPhone.

My Rags as well as my mom’s cats as well as Charlie and Trigg love to play in the bed sheets when I am making the bed. I love it. It’s hilarious.

Lately I have noticed that Charlie’s whiskers are growing. They seem to be getting longer.

Rags, was my family’s cat, who I got when I was 10 years old. He lived until he was 19.5, so until I was 29 years old (I am now 31). Since I had Rags for so long and because I was the most into him, I ended up claiming him as mine – although he was my family’s cat. After he died, about 6 months later, I got Charlie and a month later, Trigg in 2009.

I was raised to believe that fresh air was a good thing. So it begs the question, do you let your cat outside?
