I actually requested a product sample of their  HoundAbout™ Bicycle Trailer with optional Stroller Kit from Solvit Products to review.  I have long wanted one of the pet strollers on the market, because I thought Trigg and Charlie would enjoy it. This ended up being the perfect one because both Trigg and Charlie could fit in the cabin of the stroller without a problem…so that’s two big cats without a problem. I have not taken it to my parents yet to try it on Caymus and Murphy, but I have no doubt it will be wonderful for them as well.

It also has a lot of neat options and is really well-thought out.

Solvit Products actually sells their pet stroller as a bike attachment first and then they sell an optional stroller kit to make it into a stroller. So you really get two products in one – a bike trailer and a stroller – if you decide to get the optional stroller kit.

Here is how it comes:

I’d say it took about 30-45 minutes to put it together – but now that it is put together it is so easy to collapse and you can see how easily it collapses in the video I did below.

Charlie and Trigg both fit in it comfortably.

Here are some dimensions that might be helpful:

  • The dimensions of the “cabin” are 26″ x 17″ x 20″.
  • When fully assembled, the overall trailer dimensions (including wheels and bicycle attachment arm) are 46″ x 23″ x 28″.
  • The wheel size on the Medium size is 16″ and it is suitable for pets up to 50 lbs.
  • With the strolling kit installed, the overall dimensions are 50″ x 23″ x 39″ (the handle is 39″ from the ground.)
  • Medium size available in red only.

Charlie and Trigg were crazy about lounging on it when it was in the house with the wheels removed:

You know the drill, if you find it for less someplace else – please post the cheaper price and the link to the cheaper price in the comment section of this post.

There also might be a retailer near you that carries it – you can check out retailers on Solvit Products’ site.

I LOVE the concept but I don’t know if the cats would. I’m curious to read personal “on-the-road” experiences. Thanks for the interesting find!
