This page includes pictures of Rags under anesthesia and some can be sort of gruesome for the weak stomach. My vet recommended that Rags get a dental when they saw his teeth during his last visit. I had watched him paw at his mouth after he ate, so I knew there was something the matter. So although he is 18 (almost 19) and they just found elevated calcium (which could mean another bout with lymphoma or renal failure) I thought it was important for him to be comfortable in his mouth. Of course, while he is under anesthesia, they brush him and get out all of his mats; they thoroughly check out his ear and express his anal glands. What fun! All of these pictures are included below, for your viewing. I was so excited that my vet, KC Cat Clinic, was willing to take photos during this process. I have a small video of his tooth extraction as well, you'll need to scroll to the bottom of the page to check it out!
Rags getting a dental. Remember he is knocked out with gas, so he doesn't look alive. In this video they are extracting a tooth...not so pleasant for the stomach, so be careful.
