Ragdoll Rescue Texas - Kirby - Ragdoll Cat Adoption Texas DFWUPDATE May 16, 2015: KIRBY IS STAYING WITH HIS OWNER.

Kirby is a 4 year old Blue Bi-Color boy (born 2-7-11). He’s an indoor only fur baby! He is NOT declawed, up-to-date on all shots, and he is NEGATIVE for FeLV/FIV & Heartworms. He is neutered as well. Kirby is a VERY loyal and affectionate fur baby! He loves to be with the one he has chosen to be loyal too. He will always be in the same room with you no matter what you are doing (including vacuuming!). He loves to carry the fluffy pom-poms in his mouth when you are gone and will also bring them to you as a gift while you’re sleeping. I think these are comforting to him.

Kirby would do best in a home with no other cats. He gets along well with dogs. But he’s never been around large dogs. I’m guessing he would be good around kids. He does not seem to mind any of my nieces or nephews when they visit. Kirby is stressed and is combative with my older cat. My older cat, another Ragdoll, has lost weight and hides from Kirby. I truly believe that Kirby would live a happier life just being the center of attention. Having to do this just breaks my heart! I’ve tried for over 2 years to find a resolution and nothing has worked. I can’t call my other cat’s name without Kirby being aggressive to him when I do! I know this is hard to believe because he is truly an affectionate boy. I just think he thinks he has to compete with my other male. He’s very jealous of him & I do give him more attention and that does not matter.

Oh, aggiemom, how I hope and pray that you find the right forever home for Kirby. He appears to be such a sweetheart and he is so lovely! I sincerely wish we could take him but we already have a delightful girl named Miss Pink Sugarbelle and can only have one pet in our apartment.

Praying the right people will see this and want to adopt him soon!

    Big hugs!

    Patti & Miss Pink Sugarbelle 🙂 <3

How heart breaking. I am so sorry. I wish I could take him but I have two kitties so Kirby would not be happy (and neither would my two kitties). I am sure a loving person will reach out to take sweet Kirby. Hope to hear good news soon.

I hope so too, I’m trying to make both of them happy. He’s rubbing on my legs and purring as I type this. He’s a sweetheart but is terribly jealous. When I call my other cat’s name, he runs to him and bumps him out of my path or he grabs his throat with his mouth.

      I will keep you posted.

how sad. i hope someone takes him, he is a beauty. one of my cats tries to beat up on one of my others and i use the “quit it” and it works great. i don’t know what happens when i’m not home but my cats don’t appear distressed. it’s weird because my back and white will not agress on the grey tabby (who is the little shit) but he does play fight with my orange cat. i think the greay one just bites too hard when they are play fighting. in my mind i don’t think a cat would really let another cat just beat it up all the time without fighting back. how long have you had kirby? maybe he is just jealous. i would be contacting jackson galaxy or looking up some of his hints and ideas. another thing i did was pet the cat that was being agressed on and then rub that scent all over the aggressive cat. and again.. that “quit it” stuff is great if you are at home. i spray it and then say “no “smalley” (he’s the monster). there is also “pet remedy”, you can get it on amazon. it is a relaxer and stress reducer and it works great as well. it’s all natural and it calms down an aggressive cat and calms a stressed cat. the first time i used that on my aggressive cat, he calmed down and the next thing i saw that night was them sleeping on the bed together! i completely freaked out. so in the evening (the time that they tear around the most) if the little grey starts looking like he’s going to get a little too rough, i give him some of that and he calms down and plays more gently. don’t know if you have considered that. good luck, kirby is a beautiful boy.

Thank you so much for your ideas! I have tried them and more. I’ve also purchased the Feliway plug-ins and collar. I’m convinced it’s his personality. I can call out any of my fur babies names and he does nothing, unless I call out for my other male kitty. I’ve increased attention, brushing his fur, playing with his favorite toy. I’ve used the squirt bottle, and have tried positive ways as well. Petting both of them at the same time was not a good idea though. I’m truly at my wits end. My vet told me that sometimes there are cats that just don’t get along with others. This might be the case. This totally goes against my nature to rehome him. I’ve never experienced this before and I’ve never been without a cat. All I can do is hope I can find the right home for him.

Thanks again! He truly is a sweet boy!!
