Why did I build a website all about Ragdolls? For My Ragdolls!

Halston and Ashely

My Ragdolls are the most important part of my life, I've included numerous pics of my Ragdolls below. I have been in love with Ragdolls ever since my Aunt Nicky bought her first one, Halston, a Seal Mitted Ragdoll with a Blaze (pictured above) with Ashley, a seal point bicolor Ragdoll. Halston had the most wonderful personality and he made me want a Ragdoll of my very own.

When I was 8 years old my grandparents gave me my first Ragdoll, Skittles, age appropriately named! Skittles was from a cattery in Indiana. My mom has since lost all their contact information and believes they are long gone by now. Skittles died at the age of 2 of FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). FIP is a horrible disease that takes many cats. It was very hard on me to lose Skittles. However, my mom decided to get two more kittens. This time, Rags and Cosby. Cosby unfortunately suffered the same fate as Skittles at the tender age of 10 months old. Rags, on the other hand, survived. This is Rags:

Rags, a Seal Mitted Ragdoll

Rags is pictured here at the age of 8 years old. Isn't he beautiful!? Rags is a "pet quality" seal mitted Ragdoll. What makes Rags pet quality are the markings of his darker hair--that goes down too far on his hind legs and also his chin, as a seal mitted Ragdoll should be all white in those areas.

In the picture above you can tell how Rags has a "mis-marked" chin. But, as you can imagine, I don't mind. Since I got Rags when I was 10, I ended up putting dragging him everywhere with me. I dressed him up in Cabbage Patch clothes, put him the pool, took him on boat rides, you name it! The great thing about Ragdolls is their tolerance for such things, and that's why I think Ragdolls are very kid friendly. Please see the photo below to see what I mean when I say that I did everything with Rags!

Rags Swimming

This is Rags swimming at the age of 14. As of today (10-11-08), Rags is 19 years old. He has had quite a history. To learn more about Rags, please click on the webpage I dedicate to him. But, I warn you - Rags had surgery three times because 2 years ago he was diagnosed with lymphoma, so there is a pretty graphic photo of the inside of Rags on this page.

When I was 25, my parents got two Ragdoll kittens from Cindy Carpenter of Blue Grass Rags. They were named Caymus and Murphy. Caymus is the floppy cat at the top of every webpage! You can learn more about Caymus and Murphy, by going to their webpage. I have included photos of them below.

Murphy, a Seal Mitted Ragdoll with a Blaze

This is Murphy, who is a Seal Mitted Ragdoll with a Blaze. My sister, Amy, took this picture. She is an excellent photographer. If you are interested in her taking any photos for you, please contact me.

Caymus, a Seal Mitted Ragdoll

This is Caymus, who is a Seal Mitted Ragdoll. He is also known as Caymus Fabulous. Why? Because he is fabulous!! My sister, Amy, took this picture. She is an excellent photographer. If you are interested in her taking any photos for you, please contact me.
