Moderncat Studio Wave

In May 2010, Kate Benjamin introduced the Moderncat Studio Wave – a door-hanging cardboard cat scratcher.

As you can see from the photos – it has a very sleek and classy modern design, which we now expect from Moderncat Studio!

The Wave is also eco-friendly and cat-friendly – and USA-friendly! They are completely fabricated in Phoenix, Arizona. The Wave’s cardboard is held together with compression, therefore it doesn’t have adhesive like other cat scratchers.

WaveYou can also replace the cardboard when it is worn! You just remove the used cardboard from the aluminum frame and replace with a new cardboard refill. The aluminum frame hangs from all styles of doorknobs and has a silicone doorknob protector. The Wave measures 17.25″ x 3.5″ x 1.125″ and the cardboard scratch pad is 14.25″ x 3.25″.

Wave is $45 US and the replacement cardboard is $20.

Ammy, do you have the Wave? If not, will you be getting one? I’d love to know how your kitties would like it!

      • Ammy says:

I don’t have it, and I haven’t planned on getting it yet. Maybe when all the scratchers around my house have worn out!

It is really good looking and neat, I think. Honestly, with all the product testing we do – I don’t need a scratcher – but if I didn’t have that option – I would use this. It would be ideal for my mom who has classy decor – and doesn’t want ugly scratching posts around!
