From The Litter Box To The Toilet Bowl: Cat Toilet Training

| May 12, 2010 | 1 Comment

Cats can be trained to use the toilet, rather than their stinky litter box, with just a few easy steps.  However, the cat toilet training process does take several weeks, or even several months, so, of course, patience is required.  Are you interested in having your cat toilet trained?  Take matters into your own hands. The process is as follows:

  1. Move your cat’s litter box so that it is right next to the toilet.  Leave it like this for about a day or so.
  2. Gradually raise the litter box by placing phone books or other platforms beneath the box.  Add a phone book about once a day, so that eventually the litter box is the same height as the toilet.
  3. Then, gradually move the litter box over the toilet seat, about an inch a day, until the box is centered on the toilet seat.
  4. Finish the process by removing the litter box from the toilet, and help your kitty transition to using the toilet as opposed to the box.

If you don’t see the results, try purchasing pet supplies cat toilet train products or kits, like the CitiKitty Cat Toilet Training Kit.  The kit is only about $30, and a quick way to train cat to use toilet.
