Tyco and I highly recommend the "Go Cat Teaser Cat Catcher Wand Cat Toy"! They can be purchased at Petco or Amazon and are about $7 – $10 each, depending where you go. It's a fantastic, minimal effort toy (for humans). Tyco absolutely loves this toy. If I just touch the wand, he comes galloping over to play! It's a great toy if you are trying to interact more with your ragdoll, or if you're trying to get them to be more active and get some more exercise. They are surprisingly hardy toys. Over time, the mouse has become a little chewed on but he doesn't care, he still loves it madly!

I stopped using the wand toys when bozo..aka Dante, decided at the wise old age of 6 months old, he would try picking up the wand piece and start running around the house with it in his gob, this wouldn't have been a problem except the way he was carrying it, imagine if you will the usual cartoon trick where the bullet travels through an animal and comes out it's tail, this is how he decided he would carry it when running…..so we've changed all wands over to a simple piece of ribbon with the toy from the wand tied to it, although he is still an absolute sucker for anything with feathers sf smile Ragdoll Cat Forum

I love it!  Rags never hauled around wand toys, but my mom's cats, Murphy and Caymus do.  And my Charlie man does too.  Charlie actually is CRAZY about his Neko Flies Kittenator and the cool thing about Neko Flies is that the toy is detachable from the wand, so you can take off the toy and not worry about the wand waking you up as it is taken down the stairs in the middle of the night.

Does Bozo (Dante) meow while he carries it?  Murphy does – it's hysterical, but every time I try to get it on film, he drops it and comes up for a pet!

Dante (Bozo, or wool ball, or fluffy terrorist) sf laugh Ragdoll Cat Forum doesn't tend to meow when he's carrying it, instead he will play with it until he thinks it's "dead" and then meow at it to get back up, or sit in the kitchen area (apparently it has the best acoustics) and let out a loud "roar" to announce his dominance over all things in his kingdom…..the other one he does is let out an inquistive meow if he suddenly can't find anyone sf smile Ragdoll Cat Forum

Both of mine love wand toys, but their new favourite is 'finger mouse', which is a  toy mouse on a bit of elastic, with a loop on the other end that you put on your finger so you can bounce it around for them. It squeaks when it's touched and they both love it!

Having spent loads of money on all sorts of toys, I find that the best ones are always the cheapest, or free… anything over £5 and I tend to be more excited about it than them! Sookie has a thing for pebbles from the garden… she sneaks them in the house and in the dead of night I hear her pawing them around the house, then find a little collection in random rooms in the morning, or under the sofa when I hoover!! sf smile Ragdoll Cat Forum

He is an individual that's for sure, and very loved, to the point where I couldn't imagine the place without him, from what I have heard, his antics and his looks have even converted a few non cat people at my fiance's work to look at getting a ragdoll where they wouldn't even tolerate a cat before

Minou, Gary and Samson love all wand toys – especially if they have ribbons and feathers!  Minou and Gary, our minkis, love to haul them around and meow and call out to let us know they've killed something for us.  They won't be quiet until we acknowledge their kill.

Oh yeah!! I read about Neko Flies here on floppycats and I finally found a place in Austin that sells them so I made a specific trip out there (Gallery of Pets) to get some! We got the the dragonfly (the legs creep me out) and the large kittenator (which creeps me out even more haha). It's like a giant version of the mouse from the end of the go cat toy!! It's a huge hit over here, and it looks really well made. So far, it's held up pretty well to being chewed on.

Oh dear… I went online to order a new filter for the cat's water fountain and got a little carried away after deciding to browse the 'interactive toys' section. So… I have ordered a new wand toy as their old one no longer has any feathers, a cat tunnel and also found a paddling pool which comes with little toys which you float in the water for them to 'fish'!! Never seen one before but both of my cats love playing with puddles in the garden or water in the shower/bath so I'm quite looking forward to seeing how they get on with this.

It also turned out that the website didn't do the cat filters I wanted, so after my impulse buys I had to go elsewhere to get them. Never mind!!sf laugh Ragdoll Cat Forum

Well the paddling pool has arrived. It's supposed to be used outside so of course we've had constant rain all week (typical british summer this year!).

In the end I put it in the shower tray. I was a bit disappointed initially as Sookie didn't seem interested at all, and Darcy was able to get the treats off the floating toys without much effort, whereas the idea was to give them something to occupy their minds and paws! However I left it there yesterday and got on with some housework and within an hour found some soggy carpert paw prints and one of the toys halfway down the hall, so one of them had been having some fun with it. Then this morning Darcy was miaowing and scratching at the shower room door to get in to it, but when I let him in he looked at me as if to say – "well off you go then!" They just obviously just don't want me to see their playtime! sf laugh Ragdoll Cat Forum
