We have two Ragdolls:Merlin&Magic.  They are one year old and brothers.  Magic will often drop his toy mouse/ping-pong ball etc into their large water bowl after he  has played with it for a  while.  Sometimes Magic will find things on the floor and also  "baptize" the object!!  I recently misplaced my leather cell phone  holder.  The next morning  it was in their water bowl "baptized" LOL !!   Merlin has begun to fetch out the toys placed in the water with his paw.  Merlin seems to give his brother a nasty look when he finds a toy in the water.  What is with this toy dunking behavior??   No harm is being done; I also frequently give them fresh filtered water.  "Ragdoll whisperers" what is Magic saying???  t/y.sf laugh Ragdoll Cat Forum

My tortie point Siamese does something similar. She is obsessed with pony tail holders, and will stash them in her food bowl after she's done playing with them. It's pretty funny to see 4 or 5 hair ties in her bowl, and her eating around them.

My cats regularly bury those little rabbit furred bat about balls in their kibble!  Because I am an office worker I top off their dry food the night before.  It's a fun way to start the day having to remove two or three little fur balls out of the kibble bowl. :3
