My cat is fond of biting my fingers even when I just want to pet it. It hurts sometimes and I want her to stop doing it. I asked my vet about it and he recommended for me to read a book online which he said would really help me. I searched for it online and found it. Has anyone ever read this book below?

We have been lucky that none of our kitties bite. I noticed that you need to have a Kindle to purchase this particular book. We don't have one, actually I know very little about them. Lol! Good luck with teaching your kitty not to bite, since we have never had that problem I wouldn't know how to get them to stop. Perhaps when he/she starts to bite, offer a toy for him to bite instead of your fingers? Have you ever played with your kitty using your fingers? This could very likely give them the idea that biting your fingers is their way of playing. Just an idea. Once again, good luck, please keep us posted on how you are doing.

When your cat starts to bite – say ouch or something similar loudly take your hand away if possible or don't move it until he has stopped; walk away, don't continue to play or pet him.  Wait a bit then you can pet or play with him again. Continue to do this until he realizes that if he bites he will get no attention.  You can also distract him with a toy to get you hand/fingers away and again walk away.

I had a cat that would bit quite a bit.  I checked with an animal behaviorist because the kitten was even getting to my electrical cords which to say the least is dangerous.  The animal behaviorist said this is called "pica".  The kitten/cat usually grow out of it.  However, if you go online there are cord covers made of plastic that have flavors imbedded in the plastic that makes the feline turn away.  Hope this helps.

I've been there.  How old is your baby?  Is she an only cat?  Where did you adopt her from?  Maybe my experience will explain why I'm asking these questions.

My first kitten (as an adult) Casey, was a rescue and it soon became obvious he was taken from his mother too young.  He was so anxious to be played with when I got home from work that he inadvertantly ended up using his teeth.  I knew he wasn't trying to hurt me, just that he had all this energy stored up.  I asked around for suggestions and we tried them all – with some success but the play biting continued.

After a couple of months it became apparent Casey did not appreciate being home alone all day.  So, for Christmas I got the both of us a another kitten, a female Maine Coon cat who, as it turned out, to be nearly his same age.  The Coonie kitten had been allowed to grow up with her mother and her other littermates in the breeder's home.  It didn't take long for my new Coonie kitten explained to Casey, in proper cat fashion, that he was biting too hard.  By New Years Casey was no longer biting me during play.  They became lifelong friends and I had two furry babies to love.  sf smile Ragdoll Cat Forum

If everything else fails, you may want to consider giving your little girl a playmate.  It's jsut as easy to keep two.
