We have a 9 month old male bi-colour.  His colouring is coming nicely around his face and his tail.  But, there seems to be little or no sign of saddle markings.  Do these show up later?  Or if they haven't made a definite appearance yet, will he never get them?

Don't be too concerned, Debbie at Guysndolls Ragdolls (Caboolture, QLD) was very informative about this when we picked up Mr Dante. The full colours won't come out until they get to about 2 years old and will continue to mature and fill out until they are about 3-4 (mostly around the head and shoulders I believe) they should achieve almost all of their growth in the first 12-ish months on a good diet high in proteins and fats. Watching hteir colours come through is like watching a flower bloom, you will notice slight changes all the time from about their 1st birthday. Enjoy it.

In certain lights, we swear that we can see a saddle coming through!  I guess since our other two are minks, this is all new to us!!

It's the most amazing thing watching the colours come through, I've always run with the theory that because they do grow so quickly they leave all the colours from their kitten hood somewhere around their armpits and from age 1 they are playing catchup slowly creeping colour down his legs, tail and spreading out over his face to join up with their ears…..this is my theory and I'm sticking with it sf cool Ragdoll Cat Forum

Hi, I have a 7 month old lilac point and for a while he seemed very light, now slowly that lovely lilac is creeping up his face and paw tips and tail. looking lovely. His breeder says it'll take up to at least 4 years + for the colour to be complete. I've never seen a lilac bi-colour must be lovely. Have you posted any pictures? Would love to see what your boy looks like!
