Hi There!

I am new to this form but not to ragdolls.  We had a beautiful mitted seal lynx point that we adored, sadly he passed away two years ago and we were lost without him.  Just a few weeks ago, we were offered another ragdoll kitten by our former cats breeder.  This kitten has vestibular disease, so she was looking to place him in a loving pet home.  While learning about him we also learned that she had another older kitten that she had lost hope on placing.  Tinsel, was a female that had been returned early on.  She is very scared.  And actually is hiding.  I can't get near her.

She is beautiful and my husband is able to touch her on her terms and feed her.  She has shorter fur than I am accustomed to in ragdolls.  Still nothing like DSH, it is very plush and medium dense.  Not fluffy like our former ragdoll's or the little kitten (whom we have named Mau)

Mau is a joy.  Very loving and inquisitive.  Loves to climb!  Does everything a normal kitten does just with his head cocked to the side:)

Happy to meet you all!

Nice to meet you, I do hope that your kitten will improve, I did read a little on vestibular disease – something like an inner ear infection?  I do hope Tinsel, will become less scared as time goes by.  Did the breeder say why she was returned?  All the best to your new babies

Hi Rebecca!

Tinsel is already come out of hiding and watches us from a distance.  She does fine with our dogs and Mau.  She watches us while we are sleeping too.  I keep talking to her and hopefully she will come around.  Either way we love her and accept her.  She was returned because she didn't settle well in her new home and became very scared.  It just got worse from there.  She was always a shy kitten though.  Her brother who my friend has is also shy but not to this extent.  The breeder was and still is very concerned for her.  Even offered to cover the cost of her food and such as she felt we weren't likely getting enjoyment from her.  She is so grateful we adopted her even knowing her anxieties.  How could we not though.  There was just a connection between her and my husband.  You can't ignore those :)
