A few days ago, we noticed that Arlo had a red eye. We had him checked out, before leaving for a weekend. It turns out that he had a 103 degree fever, and his eye was about to burst. We had no idea that he was this sick. Arlo is feeling better, now, so we are pretty sure that he’s going to be around for a while, but it is still touch and go with his eye. Our pets, especially Ragdolls, will not complain. You really have to keep an eye on things, to know if they are sick or hurt. It’s easy if they are coughing, or have GI issues, but fevers, tumors, bites, and puncture wounds can easily go unnoticed. That red speckle in his eye, is the ulcer. The multiple reflections in that eye, are due to the fact that the eye is so swollen.

He will be in the collar, for several weeks. I’m really hoping that his eye will heal. He really is taking it pretty well, though. In fact, he is milking it for all it’s worth.
This was the night before. He was active, and came up to pose for a picture. I had just changed lenses, and had not had a chance to adjust the strobe output, so this isn’t the greatest shot.

Thanks! He really is a good boy. He is feeling better. It was good to hear him purr again. He went to the vet today, and he is much improved, but still may need a corneal graft.
