After losing Velcro, my wife was devastated. I was not immune, either. I think Arlo is still in mourning to this day, or he’s just gotten a little older, and less tolerant of being pounced upon. I thought the most cathartic thing to do, would be to get a new kitten. The cattery that we got Arlo and Velcro from, had two new babies in the house, and had to get out of the business. Without Belinda knowing, I searched and searched for a special kitten. I wanted to find a kitten that was very well socialized, and raised in a home environment. I thought it would be a definite plus if the kittens were exposed to well mannered dogs as well. Of course, the kittens had to be very healthy and vibrant, too. I hit the jackpot when I found Ragnificent Ragdolls. I told Wendy, a wonderful lady with a passion for Ragdolls, and one of the nicest people that you would care to meet, about Velcro’s story. She was moved, and picked the absolute perfect kitten for us. I was impressed with how much she cared about her kittens going to a good home. This made it very clear that raising awesome Ragdolls was a labor of love, not simply a business.
Abby is the sweetest little cat, with the cutest mannerisms, and lots of Abby-tude, but we’ll cover that in future posts. She is very gentle, but her favorite game is Monster Under the Blanket. She started off by bapping anything that moved under a blanket, but lately she’s be given to hiding under a blanket, and bapping anything that moves the blanket. In Abby’s first pose, she is just developing her Abby-tude.
