Ragdoll Rescue

Several years ago I visited a small cat shop in Houston which featured a very small boarding area for cats next to their retail area. This was my introduction to the concept of boarding cats.

Do you have a Facebook account? What about a Twitter account? Have you always wanted to help a rescue, but don’t have the financial resources to do it? Well, Brawny Cat, makers of the Scratch’n Slumber Comfort Loungers, have made a generous offer if we can do 100 Facebook and Twitter shout outs.

I rec’d the following plea for help from Merlin’s Hope: A Ragdoll and Maine Coon Rescue. This website gets about 26,000 hits a month, can you imagine if every just gave $5? That’d be $130,000! Please help, if you can! I have included photos of adoptable Rescue Ragdolls and Maine Coons in this post.

My name is Ed Denton and I was born here in Alamogordo NM, and have lived most of my life right here. It is a fairly small town with a population of about 35,000. I am married to Kathleen Denton who is also a Director of Kitty City, and we have four children that are now grown and out on their own. We live in a pretty large home and have one dog and 8 cats that are all rescued cats.

You might recall the US Postal Service’s Adopt A Shelter Pet Stamps that came out on March 17, 2010. One night I was watching Animal Planet’s Cats 101 and found out who the photographer was (Sally Andersen-Bruce) for the stamp shoot – so I immediately Googled her the next day and requested an interview. Sally Andersen-Bruce kindly obliged. Thank you, Sally for the interview.

I asked Katya Friedman for an interview so that we could learn more about AdoptAPet.com and how not only we can help kitties in need, but also to help those of you that would like to rescue a Ragdoll cat.
