It seems like the month of giveaways!  Next up is a Thundershirt Giveaway!  The idea of the Thundershirt reminds me much of the Temple Grandin approach to animal anxiety.  The constant pressure design of the Thundershirt helps to relieve pet anxiety in stressful situations like thunderstorms, hence the name, Thunder-shirt.  Thank you to Thundershirt for sponsoring this giveaway!

  1. Pip says:

How cool! I’ve read great things about Thundershirts for dogs & didn’t know there’s a kitty version. I would love to have one for my little girl, who’s a nervous nelly in the car & vet’s office!

  2. Judith McKnight says:

What a good idea. I think both the kitty and the doglet need a Thundershirt. (One size would fit both.) Not only is there scary thunder here in Mexico City, but often fireworks can be heard during times of celebration.

  3. Sarah says:

I would love one of these for my new baby kitten. I don’t know what kind of anxieties he will have yet so it’d be nice to know that I had something that could make him feel safe.

  4. I have one kitty who is very stressed by car travel, and often ends up at the vets needing a bath. I think a Thundershirt might be the answer and help calm him during his trips to the vet. I’d love to win one for him!

  5. cathy stumpf says:

I personally would like to win the thundershirt. My shiz Tzu Holly would love to have one. She is terrified of thunder and all loud noises.

  6. Fiona W says:

I saw these at Petco. Was thinking of getting one for my little guy. He’s random wild, and maybe this will help calm him down.

  7. Lynn Freeman says:

It can get cool and drafty in this house. Nolte would be nice and snug in one of these.

  8. Cindy Vercelloni says:

Two of my cats are very skiddish all of the time but especially so when there is noisy weather happening outside. I would love to give this a try and see if it helps either of them.

  9. Teresa says:

Would love to win this for my sweet Mari. She is horribly afraid of thunder and cowers under the bed when we have a storm. Hate that I can’t help her understand she is safe. Thanks for the giveaway.

  10. I have 5 cats, my cat honey has always been scared during thunderstorms and fireworks.

  11. KathyH says:

Actually, I’d like to win one for a friend’s cat. The poor thing is still traumatized from Superstorm Sandy!

  12. Betty Wells says:

My Jynxx would love this because I can’t vacuum the floors without terrorizing him. Actually hes scared of any loud noise with vibrations like thunderstorms, fireworks, electric toothbrushes, vacuum cleaner, etc.

  13. Shelia Love says:

I had heard of the Thundershirt for dogs but this is the first time hearing of the kitty version , how cool !

  14. Shadow Dance Ranch Kittehs says:

We could surely use one of these. There is plenty of times when someone needs a trip to the vet or especially when the silly neighbors set off fireworks. And this might just help us with those *traumatics*. Thanks for a chance to win one.

  15. GourmetPens says:

One of my tiny little girls is a little nutty – she’s very timid around people (which makes it hard for the pet sitter to feed her and make sure she’s okay)! Would love to try this out on her. It would just be a bonus that she would look adorable in it.

  16. Stephanie says:

My four-legged little girls would look just adorable in this, and I know they would love it!

  17. Cindy says:

My cat gets scared when I sniffle.

  18. Jessica says:

Coconut can be spazzy, especially when I’m gone, she needs constant comfort and I can’t be there for her all the time. This would really help.

  19. Kim A says:

I think a Thundershirt would be absolutely perfect for my Lillia who has occular seizures, she gets very nervous and ‘spins’ when someone visits, during storms, and when I do her nails, teeth and ears. She’s very good when things are calm here but I feel awful when she gets upset-I would love to try this for her. Thank you and Thundershirt for this giveaway.

  20. Molly says:

What a great idea!!! I know just the kitty would love this for Christmas!!!

  21. Connie Williamson says:

Both my cats are fraidy-cats and freak out whenever my husband or I try to pick them up. Maybe this would make them more lap-friendly. I’d sure like to try.

  22. Patricia M. says:

My cat Odie is a tough-guy – but when it thunders and lightening strikes, he is definitely a ‘fraidy cat’. I would love a thundershirt to comfort him when he is afraid.

  23. Danielle Murgia says:

Reese’s would love this. She is afraid of the dog. This would help her calm down when the dog is in “play” mode. I am an email subscriber too! Happy Holidays 🙂

  24. jim Graber says:

occasionally Bentley gets a little out of sorts when we go in the car, but not all the time. I think this would help on those days. normally he is a very good co-pilot.

  25. Anne says:

I’d love this for my oldest — a very sweet 8 year old Tuxie who is terrified of loud noises (like my obnoxious neighbors, a thunderstorm, and my big bad vacuum) so I’d love to see if this might help him when I’m cleaning or during a storm.

  26. Brita says:

My Annabella panics (big time!) and fights me whenever I just pick her up. I wish she could be calmed, and this Thundershirt might just do the trick. At least for the times I have to put her in the carrier. Oh, I sure hope we win one!

  27. maggie says:

    Hi,
I have a Thundershirt for my shy cat Mickey Mouser, so don’t enter me in the give away. Just wanted to say that it’s not a miracle cure, but does help sooth frightened cats – well worth trying. You can see Mickey in the thundershirt here- http://www.shelter-cats.com/2012/09/thundershirt/

  28. Kate says:

This might really help my Ibby boy. He’s got a lot of anxiety issues (he even was taking Prozac for a while). The biggest problem is on holidays with fireworks and going to the vet.

The vet is the worst. I cover the cage and talk to him the whole time, but he’s usually soiled himself (poop & pee) by the time we get there. I’ve learned to put a towel in with him, and to pack a fresh towel, paper towels, and some damp rags and baby wipes. Poor scared boy. 🙁

  29. MeLinda says:

We would love to have one of these to try on the rescue kitties. It would really help when we have stressed out rescues.

  30. MeLinda says:

Would love to have this for the rescue kitties.

  31. Geo says:

Would love to try a Thundershirt on Valentino for when he takes a car ride to the Vet. I always hate taking him because he is such a terrible traveler. He won’t be still and practically hyperventilates in the car. A Thundershirt could help.

  32. Hillary Strilko says:

Thundershirts have worked wonders with several dogs who had anxiety adjusting to the shelter I volunteer at; happy to see there are cat versions. I’d love to see if it helped my own cat who panics in his cat carrier on trips to the vet.

  33. Betty says:

I would use this for car rides to the vet for Oscar. He goes often for chemo. Actually, it might be very comforting to him all the time now. Thanks for the info.

  34. Marissa says:

My cats all hate car rides. I would like to try this to see if it calms them down at all.

  35. Christine says:

I’d like to try this for one of my kitties who has always had anxiety issues. he takes so long to recover from something out of his routine that is too stressful. I think this might help him in those situations.

  36. Lisa Salewsky says:

I would love to have one of these. I take my ragdoll out for walks and this seems to be the purfect thing to try. I do hope I win one of these for my big ragdoll that is 17#.
Thanks for giving me a chance to win

  37. Princess "P" says:

My Princess goes with me everywhere even Dr. visits. She works overtime to keep me calm and safe. She has a very cool exterior (most ragdolls do), even when we go for walks with my sister and the dogs want to get at her. It would be nice to do something in return for her. What a wonderful way to repay my best friend and life support, My Angel.

  38. Linda Meyers-Gabbard says:

    I already subscribe
I’d love to win this to see if it helps PoohBear. He gets very scared when it is storming out.

I enjoyed the HBO movie about Temple Grandin. She is a very extraordinary woman that has accomplished so very much.

  39. Denise says:

Oh this would be a God send for our new cat we adopted. He was abandoned by a family who just up and moved and left him. We found out that he had been out on his own for 2 years. He’s frightened very easily. We’ve tried about everything- maybe this could be the answer.

  40. George Hall says:

It would keep Lily warm during her outdoor walks here in Maine.

  41. Lisa Barrett says:

We have an anxious rescue that I think might benefit from this. We also have another cat that’s timid and is being bullied so she too might get relief from a Thundershirt. I love the idea and would like to give it a try. Thank you for the giveaway!

  42. Lisa Ronco says:

I’ve seen these and would love to have one for my 8 month ragdoll Oliver! He is the best most social and confidant kitten but is so fearful of the car rides! I travel with him sometimes and feel so bad hearing him crying and pawing at the crate door. I’ve tried calming drops and treats but they haven’t worked. This would be an easy thing to use and I love that I don’t have to give him any medicine!! Thanks for doing the giveaway!

  43. Leah Waterworth says:

Our Maine Coon, Gibbs, loves to meet people. as long as they come into our home. I walk him on a halter with leash but he’ll only go about 20 feet from the front door. He shivers most of the time he is out and If a car or person goes by he totally freeks out. We want to travel with him but if it doesn’t work out, I’d rather stay home than leave him alone. Thank you.
